What is Health Navigation?

Navigating the U.S. health system can be confusing—especially if you’re new to the country or unfamiliar with how insurance works. That’s why The Black Car Fund has partnered with ModernMD and Doral Health & Wellness to offer the new Health Navigation service, designed to guide drivers through every step of getting the care they need.

 

Our dedicated support team will guide you in using your health insurance, completing a preliminary checkup, connecting with primary care, and coordinating any follow-up care you need.

This benefit is only available to drivers enrolled in Drivers Benefits located in NYC and the adjacent areas, as in-person visits are required.

 

What We Do?

Our Health Navigation service has three core elements:

 

  1. Health Coverage Assessment

    We guide you in using your health insurance to stay healthy and prevent illnesses. Health insurance is important because it helps cover healthcare costs, and connects you to doctors, specialists, and prescription coverage. If you don’t have insurance, we’ll help you get the coverage you need.

     

  2. Preliminary Healthcare Screening ModernMD

    You’ll complete a baseline health screening at a participating ModernMD location. This helps identify any health concerns early.

     

  3. Connection with Primary & Specialist Care 

    Based on your results, we help you connect with a primary care provider or specialist through our partner, Doral Health & Wellness, or your existing primary care provider, if you have one. You’ll receive guidance throughout the process to ensure you stay on track.

     

When you have access to care and the guidance to use it, your overall wellbeing improves.

What’s the difference between having health insurance and accessing the Health Navigation service?

 

Health insurance gives you coverage, but it doesn’t tell you how to use it. Health Navigation service helps you:

Do I need to have insurance to participate?

 

Yes. Drivers must have health insurance to participate.
However, if you don’t have insurance yet, we can help you enroll through our Healthcare Enrollment process. This is part of Health Navigation service.

 

 

Do I have to pay to get help with health insurance enrollment?

 

No! Healthcare Enrollment is a free service provided to drivers enrolled in Drivers Benefits. The screening process only takes a few minutes and can help you avoid unnecessary costs.
